Andhra Pradesh CM's directive to evolve new industrial policy

Hyderabad, Jan 10 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah today asked Industries Department to focus on evolving new industrial policy with focus on redressing regional imbalances ensuring the State's resources were used to the maximum extent.The Chief Minister assured the industrialists and investors the interests of the industry would be protected.

Assuring to restore normalcy in the State, the Chief Minister said emphasis should be laid on medium and small scale industries that had the potential of generating maximum employment.

At the same time, priority should be given to entrepreneurs who came forward to set up industries in rural and backward areas in three regions of the State- Telangana, Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma, who spoke to the Chief Minister, informed the Centre's inclination to hold the International Investment Summit, scheduled to be held in March this year, in Hyderabad.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to strive hard to utilise the event basically to attract investments in petrochemical, petroleum sector in Kakinada and Visakhapatnam.

Special focus should be made by preparing a blue print to attract IT industries in Tier-2 cities like Warangal, Vijayawada and Tirupati.
