Hyderabad, Jan 11 : Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President D Srinivas today urged party legislators, who had put in their papers for and against creation of a separate Telangana state, to take back their resignations to create a congenial atmosphere for the Centre to take a decision on the issue.Talking to reporters here, he said the Congress High Command was very serious on the matter. The party central leadership had asked him to convey its direction to all MLAs and MLCs.
The Congress legislators from Telangana region, who were closeted at the New MLA quarters, told reporters that they would take a decision on the issue after tomorrow's meeting of the JAC formed after the Centre's December 23 announcement to go for wider consultations on the Telangana issue.
''We will discuss the next course of action at the meeting,'' former Minister and senior Congress leader from Telangana K Damador Reddy told newspersons.
Meanwhile, JAC convener M Kodandaram told reporters that the JAC was contemplating to create a ''constitutional crisis'' to mount pressure on the Centre from backtracking on the December nine announcement to set in motion the process for formation of separate Telangana state.
Professor Kodandaram along with TDP leaders, including former Home Minister T Devender Goud offered juice and ended the fast of Gajwel TDP MLA Pratap Reddy, who was admitted to the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences after his health condition deteriorated.
