Tirupati, Jan 9 : A large number of Dasa devotees trekked up the Tirumala footpath as part of the 'Metlotsavam' conducted by the TTD's Dasa Sahitya Project here today.The devotees in traditional dress, who gathered at Alipiri in the morning, participated in the hour-long preliminary rituals performed in the presence of Sri Sri 1008 Sugeendra Theertha Swamy of Manthralayam.
Over 2,500 devotees who came from different parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other places later walked up the flight of steps singing compositions of the Kannada Dasas in praise of Lord Venkateswara, TTD said in a release here.
They also performed pujas to the steps before starting their holy trek.
