ICC organizes Corporate Olympiad 2010

Kolkata, Jan 11 : Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), in association with Gorbatchow, has started Corporate Olympiad 2010, an event that brings together various corporate houses on to a level playing field, at three prominent clubs here from Jan 11-23.

The teams are competing in five disciplines - football, badminton, cricket, table tennis and golf.

The football and badminton tournaments have started from Jan 11 at Spring Club; the cricket and Table Tennis competition will be conducted from Jan 12 onwards at Space Circle and the Golf tournament will be hosted at the Tolly club on Jan 23. It will be followed by a Gala Closing Ceremony in the evening at the same venue.

"Striking a balance between professional and personal life has always been a key challenge and it is equally important to allow fun for the employees out of work place. It with this very idea ICC has taken this initiative which has got overwhelming response" said Dr. Rajeev Singh, Director General, ICC.

Corporate Sports has been recognized as a key activity in today's competition environment. The balance of work and play is important for organizational overall growth. The bottom line is happy and healthy employees result in decreased absenteeism, turnover and illnesses and increased camaraderie, production and profits, said an ICC release Monday.
